Aspiring Vice-Governatorial Candidates stood in front of all MUST-JC students as they tackled their government platforms last March 11, 2016 at the Radiant Shell of Jasaan. The said program was conducted through the suggestion of Mr Colbert Rabaya, the Executive Dean for Extension Campuses and the whole MUST-JC Faculty and Staff. It was facilitated by the Central Student Organization (CSO) led by its President Janrex Tabequero, with the supervision of its adviser Mr Floreto Quinito, Jr and Engr Ruel Salvador, the University Campus Director. The main purpose of the event is to educate students as well as the residents about the main tasks and responsibilities of the Vice Governor.
The program started with the speech of Bro Danilo Lamayo on how the people can help the country by voting wisely. He explained carefully on how each resident can be a part of making the country progressive by choosing the right leaders. The presentation of the Vice-Governatorial candidates came next.
Mr Fermin Jarales, 37 years old, a long time public servant and a member of the LAKAS Partylist. He included in his platform is turning our province a first-world Misamis Oriental. He dreams of a progressive and peaceful Misamis Oriental.
Another candidate, Mr Roberto ‘Loloy’ Cezar, a resident of Gingoog City and a member of the National Unity Party. His platform mainly focuses on the distribution of rice to the poor and needy.
Students were given the chance to ask questions to the running candidates. A total of ten questions were asked and both of them answered it with brains and confidence. The incumbent Provincial Vice-Governor Joey G. Pelaez was not able to attend in the event for some important purposes.
